History of

Udenu

Udenu Local Government Area was originally created in 1981 during Nigeria’s Second Republic but was later dissolved during the military era.

The Local Government was officially re-established on 1 October 1996, alongside several other local government areas across Nigeria, to strengthen grassroots governance and bring development closer to communities.

Since its re-creation, Udenu has continued to serve as the administrative center responsible for coordinating development initiatives, rural infrastructure, education support, and health services across its communities.
